Celebrating Freedom Day with a focus on Inclusion
Inclusion of children with special needs in ECD settings and programmes, is vital to ensuring that those young children that experience barriers to learning are accommodated and are adequately stimulated. In celebration of Freedom Day and our democracy, Ntataise joined forces with Autism South Africa and Mphalalatsane Special School to recognise and honour all people, and particularly young children, on the Autism spectrum. On Saturday 27th April 2019, Ntataise hosted an Autism awareness walk and talk in the township community of Rammulostsi, home to Ntataise’s Training and Resource Centre in the Free State. Some 35 community members including parents, ECD practitioners from local ECD programmes, Ntataise trainers and staff and children of all ages turned out to support the initiative on this sunny Saturday morning.
