Contributing towards ECD sector professionalization

PIECCE (Project for Inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education) is contributing to the professionalisation of the sector by developing Standardised Programme Frameworks for the ECCE Diploma and Bed at level six and seven.

The project, which is funded by the European Union and the Department of Higher Education and Training is in its final phase of implementation. A major innovation is that the project work is being led collaboratively by a consortium of universities and NGOs. Ntataise’s involvement in PIECCE, as an NGO consulting partner, is to bring in the practical knowledge and many years of experience of offering ECD training in the occupational space. We have drawn on our vast experience to participate in discussions and working groups on topics such as inclusivity, foundational learning competencies and academic support.
